Unika Hepa-Horse, horse liver, supplementary feed

Hepa-Horse is the supplementary feedstuff with which the famous milk thistle (Silybum marianum) is included in the horse's diet. Hepa-Horse is the supplementary feedstuff that supports the normal physiological conditions of the horse's liver.

Based on Milk Thistle (Silimarina), Hepa-Horse has been produced from the experience gained in human use of Milk Thistle. The liver of an athletic horse is normally subjected to very hard work, as it is involved in all reactions of energy metabolism, the absorption of many vitamins and the conversion of toxic metabolites into useful substances (e.g. it converts homocysteine into methionine). Hepa-Horse is very useful after pharmacological treatments and food poisoning of various kinds, especially during convalescence periods and to support the self-cleaning of the liver. Hepa-Horse is a feed with a high content of silymarin mixed with extracts from milk thistle fruit. This substance is used in human phytotherapy for its hepatoprotective and antioxidant properties. Milk Thistle is today considered by definition the strongest regenerator of liver cells and a hepatoprotective plant. Its phytocomplex is able to protect the liver from damage by toxic substances and has an important antioxidant effect. It has been shown that silymarin (active ingredient of milk thistle) accelerates protein biosynthesis and thus stimulates the regeneration of liver cells. Hepa horse is supplemented with DL-methionine, an essential amino acid that plays several roles in the body, including protein synthesis and the production of S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAMe), which is very important for detoxification of the body. Methionine is a glycogenic amino acid and participates in increasing the body's energy reserves, thus improving the horse's health.

For the following horses the administration of the supplementary feed is recommended:

• for horses that have received medication
• after a hospital stay
• for horses that have performed very intensive sporting activities
• for horses fed with improperly stored and / or contaminated feed

Feeding recommendation

• 30-60 g Hepa-Horse per day
• for at least 25-30 consecutive days

As each horse's body has its own particularities, it is recommended to gradually introduce feed and supplementary feed into the horses' diet and to test their tolerance.
