Function and benefits of leather stirrup leathers

Stirrup leathers ensure that the respective stirrups can be attached to the saddle in the required, individually correct length. This gives your foot a secure hold in the stirrup, making riding, dressage and jumping safer. Every equestrian gets more control and freedom thanks to the comfortable fit of the saddle, stirrups, safety stirrups and stirrup leathers. The risk of falling from the horse is significantly reduced.

Features of the stirrup leathers

  • Many high-quality straps are made of leather or soft leather with its soft and supple character. Stirrup leathers made of hard-wearing leather are used in all equestrian disciplines.

  • Nylon inserts or a nylon core provide increased tear resistance. They ensure that their shape and length remain stable under daily stress.

  • If you need a hand-sewn or particularly narrow leather stirrup leather, then our range offers the appropriate products.

  • We have finely graded lengths between 110 cm and 170 cm. Find out more about the colour, comfort functions and material composition of the respective product.

  • Curved buckles made of robust stainless steel offer a particularly secure hold and long-term reliability.
  • If you want a stable, flexible stirrup, you should consider grabbing yourself one of our wide stirrup leathers.

We only carry brands that combine quality, high standards and the best designs. The shop stocks stirrup leathers from BR, Equiline, Freejump, Kavalkade, Passier, Prestige Italia, Schockemöhle Sports and Stübben.

How do you measure the correct length for stirrup leathers?

We offer high-quality, hard-wearing stirrup leathers in different lengths. There is a suitable model for every rider, both children and adults. The stirrup leather's length is adjusted by means of the traditional hole spacings. Two methods are recommended for small, medium-sized and tall people to determine the correct length of the strap for the respective stirrup:

  1. In the first method, you mount the horse and let your legs hang down. The tread of the stirrup should now be level with the ankles.

  2. The second method measures from the ground: first, place your hand at the stirrup closure, then, arrange the stirrup along your arm. This should end in your armpit region for the correct length. If the strap is tight, this length is well-suited for dressage. For show jumping, the stirrup leather should be shortened approximately 3-5 holes.

Buy high-quality stirrup straps for saddle

Here you will find great value, high-quality stirrup leathers for securely and comfortably attaching stirrups and safety stirrups to the saddle. Leather straps not only impress with their flexibility, but also look very elegant, which is important in equestrian sports. This boosts safety, comfort, posture, balance, and the overall impression in equal measure. Useful accessories for equestrian sports complete the range. You are of course welcome to let us know if you have any questions or requests.
