Trust Sweet Iron Baby Pelham, Jointed

This Baby Pelham by Trust is a handmade model with a standard, single-break mouthpiece. A Baby Pelham combines the action of a snaffle and a double bridle and can be ridden with either one or two reins, making it ideal for riders and horses that need to get used to a double bridle. When used correctly with only one rein, pelham straps are required to connect the bit rings to the rings of the shanks. These straps are not included in the delivery. The single broken mouthpiece has a Sweet Iron alloy and exerts pressure mainly on the interdental space and the sides of the tongue. The Sweet Iron alloy naturally stimulates salivation as it oxidises on contact with moisture and forms sweet tasting surface rust for horses. A Pelham is much easier to use than a double bridle as it has only one mouthpiece.

Note: When not in use, a thin layer of orange-brown rust will develop on the mouthpiece, this can be removed with a damp cloth and is not a quality defect!
