Trust Sweet Iron Pelham Locked
The Sweet Iron Pelham is made by Trust and has a special variation of the single broken mouthpiece, which locks when pressure is applied to the reins and becomes a straight bar. When the pressure is released, it becomes a single bit again, making it ideal for horses that go strongly against the hand. The Pelham side piece can be ridden with one or two reins and combines the action of a snaffle and a curb bit. To prevent too wide a rotation in the horse's mouth, the Pelham should always be used with a chin chain. The Pelham is ideal for riders and horses who want to switch from a snaffle to a double bridle. The Sweet Iron alloy forms surface rust on contact with moisture, which tastes sweet to horses, so the mouthpiece is very well accepted.
Note: When not in use, a thin layer of orange-brown rust will develop on the mouthpiece, this can be removed with a damp cloth and is not a quality defect!
